Some big surprises out there so far... who do you think will take it this year?
I am hoping for Vancouver... only Canadian team that's not the Canadians... (I'm a Leafs fan... but not proud of it)
Carolina as well, I like an underdog.
But unfortunately I'll have to say Detroit will win. Just to deep a team.

what were everyone's thoughts on the free agent frenzy in the NHL yesterday and today? Some seriously bloated contracts handed out there. I'm an LA Kings fan (yes, I know), and we stood pat. We are WAY under the cap floor, but set up nicely to sign a bunch of players next year.

The leafs picked up Komisarik from the habs... and some Orr guy.
Really wanted to see a big signing like Gaborik or Havlatt though.... even a Kovou...
Looks like the leafs will miss the play-offs yet again!

Looks like the leafs will miss the play-offs yet again! The salaries and years attached were just insane! Montreal also got the highly overpaid Scott Gomez. Not sure what Gainey was thinking.... As for my Kings, we picked up Ryan Smyth in a trade for nearly nothing. It pays to have salary cap room
